Liz Bennett Named Executive Director of Sync Space
NORTHEAST, TN – September 1, 2025
Sync Space proudly announces the appointment of Liz Bennett as Executive Director. A longtime leader in the regional business community, Bennett will continue to serve as Director of the Holston Business Development Center (HBDC) while assuming leadership of Sync Space’s daily operations. Prior to her role at HBDC and Sync Space, Bennett served as the assistant director at the ETSU Innovation Lab.
Bennett brings extensive experience in supporting entrepreneurs and driving economic growth. At HBDC, she has overseen the organization’s growth into a vital hub for small businesses, providing resources, mentorship, and guidance to fuel long-term success. Her dual leadership role will create strong alignment between HBDC and Sync Space, further strengthening the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
As Executive Director, Bennett will guide Sync Space’s regional strategic initiatives, program development, and community engagement efforts. She will be supported by Ryan Shipley, a regional entrepreneur and VP of Strategy and Capital at Sync Space, and Brooklyn Scott, as executive assistant and integral part of HBDC, coordinating initiatives, partnerships, and programs to advance local business development.
“We are thrilled to have Liz step into this role,” said Heath Guinn, President of Sync Space. “Her deep commitment to business development and proven leadership make her the ideal person to guide Sync Space regional vision forward. With this partnership between HBDC, Sync Space, and many other ESO organizations, we can provide resources and a cohesive and impactful pathway for startups and small businesses to thrive.”
Bennett shared her enthusiasm for the new role: “I am honored to join Sync Space as Executive Director and to continue my work with HBDC. By aligning the strengths of both organizations, we have a unique opportunity to build an even stronger foundation for innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth across our region.”
